Portable HEPA Air Purification for Healthcare Facilities

Respiratory infections can be acquired from exposure to pathogenic microorganisms which can be indefinitely suspended in air and be carried over long distances. Healthcare facilities with patients with a compromised immune system are especially vulnerable, but from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and other studies, other potentially affected types of healthcare facilities include:

  • Intensive care units

  • Emergency waiting Rooms

  • Dental Surgeries

  • Nursing Homes

  • Doctors Offices

  • Veterinary Clinics

Specific applications include:

  • Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) isolation
  • TB isolation
  • Pediatric isolation
  • Infectious disease control
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Legionelia
  • Nosocomial infections

Center for Disease Control (CDC) studies show that the combination of HEPA filtration and germicidal irradiation is the most effective method to capture and destroy bio-contaminants, such as the fungi, bacteria and viruses that spread diseases such as pandemic flu, avian flu, tuberculosis, aspergillosis, ebola fever, marburg hemorrhagic fever, lassa fever, and other biological threats.

To assure that the diseases do not spread through HVAC systems, the potential problem areas should be isolated and the air purified by portable HEPA air filtration equipment as recommended by the CDC.

To comply with CDC guidelines and to prevent contamination of sensitive areas, OmniAire HEPA negative air machines and OmniAire PAC machines are used to filter and purify the air during maintenance projects; for creation of isolation environments and to prevent cross-contamination when compounding pharmacies.
